Board of Education Honors Students and Retirees at May Meeting

The May meeting of the Decatur County Board of Education was marked by celebration and gratitude, as students and staff members were honored for their achievements and years of dedicated service.

Student Recognitions

The special recognitions began with Christopher Bryant, Principal of Bainbridge High School (BHS), proudly presenting the Top Five Graduates of the BHS Class of 2025. These outstanding students, recognized for their academic excellence, include:

Retiree Recognitions

Jennifer Wilkinson, Assistant Superintendent, led the System Retiree Recognition, noting that 26 staff members are retiring from Decatur County Schools, having collectively contributed 706 years of service across various departments, schools, and programs.

Retirees were recognized from Jones Wheat Primary School (JWPS), West Bainbridge Primary School (WBPS), Hutto Elementary School (HES), Bainbridge Middle School (BMS), BHS, Nutrition, and Maintenance and Transportation. Principals and department directors took turns acknowledging their retirees:
